Ask your AI what people on X are saying — without an X API plan.
Public X (Twitter) data — post details, keyword search sorted by top or latest, and the posts an account has published — answered inside Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor. No X developer account or API plan of your own: each call is quoted before it runs and paid from one toolfare balance.
1Connect your AI app
Pick the app you use. You do this once, and every API on toolfare is then available in it.
Add toolfare as a connector in Claude
Add to Claudehttps://api.toolfare.ai/mcp
- 1Open Customize → Connectors and choose "Add custom connector".
- 2Paste this URL as the remote MCP server URL.
- 3Leave the OAuth client id and secret under Advanced settings empty.
- 4Complete the browser authorization, then return to your conversation.
Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. A Free account may hold one custom connector in total.
Claude’s own instructions2What to ask
Copy a prompt into your AI app once you’re connected. It picks the right one of the 3 tools and tells you the price first.

Use it when
- You want a quick read on public reaction to a launch, outage or announcement on X.
- You want to see what a person or company account has been posting lately.
- You need the details of a specific post someone linked to you.
- You want occasional X data without committing to an X API plan.
Look elsewhere when
- You want Threads, Meta’s text-based app, rather than X. Use this instead
- You want to post, reply, like or send messages. These tools only read public data.
- You need the full firehose or complete historical archive. This is per-call lookup, not a bulk data feed.
X Data directly, or through toolfare
Directly
- An X developer account and a paid API plan
- Or your own collection setup, or a contract with a data vendor, with its own key and invoice
- Your own code to call the API and parse the responses
Through toolfare
- Pay per call, quoted before it runs, on the same balance as every other source
- No X developer account and no key to hand to an agent
- X beside Threads, LinkedIn and web search in the same question
You get three read-only lookups of public data, not the full X API — no posting, no streaming, no follower graph. If you need those, buy X’s API directly.
Limits
- Public data only — nothing from protected accounts or anything that requires being signed in to X.
- Three tools: post details, keyword search and an account’s posts. There is no profile, follower or reply-thread tool.
- Search and timelines return up to the number of results you set, sorted top or latest for search.
- Each call is a snapshot at the moment it runs, with no history of past values.
- Pay as you go from your toolfare balance, in US dollars; there is no subscription. A call runs when your balance covers its quote.
Questions
No. The data is X’s public data, collected through a third-party provider. toolfare is not affiliated with or endorsed by X. X sells its own API directly if you need its full surface.
No. You sign in to toolfare, not to X, and toolfare holds the provider account. You pay per call from a prepaid balance.
Each tool’s current price is shown on this page and quoted before the call runs.
No. All three tools read public data only.
Yes. Create an API key in the toolfare console and call the tools over HTTP, or script them with the toolfare CLI. In Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex, connect the MCP server instead.
