Data toolfare buys · quoted first

Ask your AI what the web says about a domain.

Domain Rating, backlinks, organic traffic and keyword difficulty, answered inside ChatGPT or Claude. You need no Ahrefs seat and no API key of your own: toolfare buys each call, tells your AI the price before it runs, and charges the units the call actually consumed.

1Connect your AI app

Pick the app you use. You do this once, and every API on toolfare is then available in it.

2What to ask

Copy a prompt into your AI app once you’re connected. It picks the right one of the 7 tools and tells you the price first.

  • How strong a domain is, in one call

    About $0.07 a domain.

Ahrefs Domain Rating and Ahrefs Rank for one domain — the authority score, without paging through anything.

    • “How strong is this competitor’s domain?”
    • “Get me the Domain Rating for example.com.”
  • How much search traffic a site gets

    About $0.07 a domain.

Estimated organic traffic, ranking-keyword counts and traffic value, with the paid-search equivalents — one call per domain.

    • “How much organic traffic does this competitor get?”
    • “How many keywords does example.com rank for?”
  • Who links to them, and with what anchor

Billed per link returned, from about $0.07

The individual inbound links for a target — linking page, anchor text, and the strength of the domain it came from.

    • “Who links to this competitor?”
    • “Show me the backlink profile for example.com.”
  • What a keyword is worth, and how hard it is

    From about $0.07

    • “What is the keyword difficulty for ai agents?”

Use it when

  • You want to know how strong a domain is before you compete with it, partner with it, or buy it.
  • You are auditing a link profile, or looking for the domains worth asking for a link.
  • You need volume and difficulty on a keyword before anyone writes anything.

Look elsewhere when

  • The site is your own and already in Search Console. That data is first-party, exact and free; Ahrefs estimates what Search Console measures. Use this instead
  • You want to know what currently ranks for a keyword. That is a live results page, not an index — ask a search source instead. Use this instead
  • You want app-store rankings. Web search and app search are different indexes with different keywords. Use this instead
  • You only need the totals and are about to page through every backlink. The backlink totals answer that in one call, and every listed link is billed.
  • You need a guaranteed-complete link graph. Every backlink index is a crawl, and a crawl is a sample with a date on it.

Ahrefs directly, or through toolfare

Directly

  • An Ahrefs subscription, plus API access as its own paid line
  • A key of your own to store, rotate and hand to an agent
  • Units bundled into the plan you bought, and a bill that does not move when your usage does

Through toolfare

  • Per call, quoted before it runs, on the same balance as everything else
  • No Ahrefs seat and no key to hand to an agent
  • Reachable from any MCP client or your own script

You get the endpoints listed on this page, not the whole Ahrefs product. There is no Site Audit, no Content Explorer, no alerting, and no dashboard to share with your team — this is the data behind Ahrefs reaching your AI, not Ahrefs itself. If you want the application, buy the application.

Limits

  • List calls are billed per row, and Ahrefs returns 1,000 rows when no `limit` is given. The backlink, referring-domain and keyword-expansion cards take a `limit` capped at 100 rows; the one-call totals take none.
  • Scoping is per capability, not universal: Domain Rating and the backlink totals take a report date and no country; the traffic metrics take a date and a country; the keyword lookups require a country and take no date. Ask for a scope the capability accepts, or you get its default rather than the one you meant.
  • Ahrefs rate-limits the API key upstream, so a burst of queries can be throttled regardless of your toolfare balance.
  • Pay as you go from your toolfare balance, in US dollars; there is no subscription. A call runs when your balance covers its quote.
