Ask your AI to read any page — the cheap, fast way.
Any public URL returned as clean, LLM-ready text — the lightest way to read a page when you do not need rendering options or structured extraction — answered inside ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Cursor. No Jina account or key of your own: toolfare makes each call, quotes it first, and charges the tokens Reader reports.
1Connect your AI app
Pick the app you use. You do this once, and every API on toolfare is then available in it.
Add toolfare as a connector in Claude
Add to Claudehttps://api.toolfare.ai/mcp
- 1Open Customize → Connectors and choose "Add custom connector".
- 2Paste this URL as the remote MCP server URL.
- 3Leave the OAuth client id and secret under Advanced settings empty.
- 4Complete the browser authorization, then return to your conversation.
Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. A Free account may hold one custom connector in total.
Claude’s own instructions2What to ask
Copy a prompt into your AI app once you’re connected. It picks the right one of the 1 tools and tells you the price first.
A page as clean text
Fetches one URL and returns its readable text, ready for your AI to work with — nothing more, and nothing slower.
- “Read this page and tell me what it says.”
- “What does this competitor’s about page claim?”
1Create an API key
One key and one endpoint for every API on toolfare.
export TOOLFARE_API_KEY='tf_live_…'
2Every tool and its input
Send the tool name and its arguments as JSON; the reply is JSON too.
jina_reader_readFetches one URL and returns its readable text, ready for your AI to work with — nothing more, and nothing slower.
Use it when
- You want a page’s text and nothing more.
- You are reading many pages and cost matters.
Look elsewhere when
- You need structured fields, a whole-site crawl or browser-rendering options. Use this instead
- You need an image of the page. Use this instead
Jina Reader directly, or through toolfare
Directly
- A Jina account and a token pack
- An API key of your own to hand to an agent
- One more bill for reading pages
Through toolfare
- Per page, quoted before it runs, on the same balance as everything else
- No Jina account and no key to hand to an agent
- Page reading beside the rest of your research in the same question
You get Reader’s page-to-text read, not the rest of Jina’s APIs — no embeddings, no reranking and no search through the MCP connection.
Limits
- Public pages only; anything behind a login comes back as the login page.
- Text only — no screenshots and no structured extraction.
- Pay as you go from your toolfare balance, in US dollars; there is no subscription. A call runs when your balance covers its quote.
