toolfare

Everything your agent needs. One connection.

toolfare turns the Similarweb API into callable AI tools, then pairs it with the rest of your research stack. Ask in ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Cursor for visits, acquisition channels, PPC spend, competitors and the next move — no Similarweb subscription or API key of your own.

One account, many research tools

One connection gives your AI the sources a marketing answer actually needs.

A useful marketing question rarely lives in one tool. Ask in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor and toolfare can combine traffic, search, ads, app-store, social and creative context in the same conversation, instead of asking you to connect each source one by one.

1

Size the market and the competitor

Ask how much traffic a competitor gets, where it comes from, how much paid search contributes, and which adjacent sites belong in the same competitive set.

2

Explain why they are getting found

Move from traffic volume into the search layer: keywords, backlinks, SERP players, trends and AI visibility, so the agent can explain what is driving the visits.

3

Read app-store demand when the market is mobile

Bring app keywords, ranking signals and review context into the same research flow instead of treating mobile discovery as a separate analysis.

4

See what competitors are actually running

Check live and historical ad creative across search, display, video and social libraries before deciding what angle, format or campaign to test next.

About five minutes

Set it up once, in the app you already use.

There is nothing to install for Similarweb specifically. One connection reaches every source in the catalogue, and this is one of them.

Claude Code

Use the MCP connection in your AI app, or run the toolfare CLI in its terminal. Both use browser approval, discover capabilities and quote paid calls before they run.

  1. 1

    Create your toolfare workspace

The connection is public and identical for everyone — your toolfare sign-in is what points it at your data. Connect one account in that workspace too: that is what your AI reads. The first time your AI uses the connection, toolfare asks you to approve the access and names the workspace it will read through. No workspace yet? toolfare has you create one right there, then brings you back to approve.

    Create your workspace

Already have one? Nothing to do here — sign in when the connection asks for it.

  2. 2

    Copy the toolfare MCP connection

    https://api.toolfare.ai/mcp
  3. 3

    Add it to Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http toolfare https://api.toolfare.ai/mcp
    1. Run the command in any project. It writes the configuration and prints an `Added …` line.
    2. Authorize separately — adding a server does not open a browser.
    3. Run `claude mcp list` to confirm the server reads `✔ Connected`.
  4. 4

Approve the access, then ask it something

    1. Inside Claude Code, run `/mcp` and follow the browser flow — or, from your shell, `claude mcp login toolfare`.
    2. The toolfare consent page names the host, the workspace the grant will read through, and what the connection will be able to do.
    3. Approving creates the grant listed above on this page. Cancelling creates nothing.
    4. On a machine with no browser (SSH, headless Linux), `claude mcp login toolfare --no-browser` prints the URL and takes the pasted callback.

    Paste this first

Using toolfare, search for what capabilities I can reach.

A list of capabilities with names, what each reads and what each costs. An empty list means the search matched nothing — try broader words. An error naming authorization means the host never completed the browser step.

21 things you can ask it

Ask in plain English. These are the tools behind the answer.

Each one is a tool your AI is offered by name once you connect. You never have to type the name — it is here so you can tell what actually ran.

  • Visits and engagement over time

    aisa_website_traffic

The core traffic series for any domain — visits, bounce rate, pages per visit and average visit duration, month by month.

    • “How much traffic does stripe.com get, and is it growing?”
    • “Compare our traffic against this competitor over the last three months.”
  • What they spend on paid search

    aisa_website_ppc_spend

Modelled monthly PPC spend for a domain, in USD — the single number that says how seriously a competitor buys traffic.

    • “How much does this company spend on Google Ads each month?”
    • “Is this competitor buying their growth or earning it?”
  • Where their traffic actually comes from

    aisa_marketing_channels

Visits split across acquisition channels — direct, organic search, paid search, display, social, referral, email.

    • “Where does this site’s traffic come from?”
    • “Do they rely on SEO or on paid?”
  • Global and category rank

    aisa_website_ranking

A domain’s position worldwide or in its market, plus the category Similarweb files it under.

    • “What is this site’s ranking, and in which category?”
    • “Which category does Similarweb put this company in?”
  • Their closest competitors, by audience

    aisa_similar_sites

The competitive set Similarweb derives from overlapping audiences, rather than from a keyword list.

    • “Who does Similarweb consider this site’s closest competitors?”
    • “Build me a competitive set for this domain.”
  • Which ad networks send them display traffic

    aisa_ad_networks

Incoming display traffic broken down by the network delivering it.

    • “Which ad networks send this site its display traffic?”
    • “Are they buying display, and through whom?”
  • Who competes for the same keywords

    aisa_keyword_competitors

The domains sharing a site’s search footprint — competitors by keyword overlap rather than by audience.

    • “Who competes with us for the same search keywords?”
    • “Which domains share this site’s search footprint?”

And 14 more, same connection

Named rather than worked through — your AI discovers all of them through the connection itself, so you never have to pick one.
