Then connect your Stripe account in the toolfare console (https://toolfare.ai/stripe#setup); calls fail until it is connected.

Sign in once per machine; the CLI renews the sign-in itself. On a CI runner or another server, create an API key in the toolfare console and set it as `TOOLFARE_API_KEY` instead of signing in. Paid calls on one sign-in or key run one at a time. `--max-cost` refuses a call quoted above that many credits (1,000 credits = $3).

Tool: `stripe_query`

Runs a read tool from Stripe’s hosted MCP against your account — the Stripe API’s GET endpoints for balance, customers, invoices, subscriptions and payment intents among them. Only allowlisted reads run; nothing is written.

Ask:
- How many new subscriptions did we get last week?
- What is our current Stripe balance?
- List invoices that are past due.

## Price

Free to read: it is your own account, so toolfare pays nobody for the data and charges nothing per read. No per-read charge to observe. Reads need no purchase. Like every toolfare call, they run only while your balance holds at least $0.003, and that is not spent.

Balances and top-ups are in US dollars. Quotes and `--max-cost` count credits: 1,000 credits = $3 ($0.003 each).

## Use it when

- You want revenue, subscriptions or churn next to the campaigns that acquired those customers.
- You want to look up a customer, an invoice or a payment mid-conversation.
- You want a billing number from Stripe itself rather than a dashboard copy of it.

## Look elsewhere when

- You want to refund a payment, create a payment link or change a subscription. Those need review and are not available through the MCP connection.
- You want what happened in the product before someone paid. That is your product analytics.

## Limits

- Reads are live from Stripe — there is no synced copy — so a wide question can take several calls and is subject to Stripe’s rate limits.
- Only allowlisted read tools run; anything else is reported as needing review, and review is not reachable through the MCP connection.
- Only accounts you connected are readable.
