# Seedream through toolfare

> Images and image edits from ByteDance’s Seedream models — 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 Flash, 5.0 Lite and 5.0 Pro — at preset sizes from 1K to 4K or any width and height in range, asked from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or your own script. No ByteDance account or key of your own: toolfare quotes each call before it runs, charges one balance, and returns the image in the same call.

Sign in once per machine; the CLI renews the sign-in itself. On a CI runner or another server,
create an API key in the toolfare console and set it as `TOOLFARE_API_KEY` instead of signing in.
Paid calls on one sign-in or key run one at a time. `--max-cost` refuses a call quoted above
that many credits (1,000 credits = $3).

From $0.027 Quoted before each call; the final charge follows the returned usage. Pay per call from one balance.

Balances and top-ups are in US dollars. Quotes and `--max-cost` count credits: 1,000 credits = $3 ($0.003 each).

## Use it when

- You want Seedream specifically — to match an existing look, or because it suits your prompts.
- You need an exact output size, such as a banner or a vertical poster, rather than a fixed aspect ratio.
- You want large images, up to 4K on Seedream 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 Lite.
- You need repeatable results: Seedream 4.0 and 4.5 accept a seed.

## Look elsewhere when

- You want to compare several non-ByteDance image models from one tool.
- You want the image to move.
- You only need a background removed, an image upscaled or an object erased.

## Limits

- One image per call.
- Sizes depend on the version: 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 Lite go up to 4K; 5.0 Flash and 5.0 Pro up to 2K. Custom sizes must keep an aspect ratio between 1:16 and 16:1.
- Seedream 5.0 Lite generates from text only: it takes no input images and cannot edit.
- Pay as you go from your toolfare balance, in US dollars; there is no subscription. A call runs when your balance covers its quote.
