# LinkedIn Ads through toolfare

> Spend, clicks, conversions and cost per conversion by campaign or ad, live analytics by campaign group or creative, and the state of every campaign — answered inside ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Cursor. Connect your LinkedIn ad account to toolfare once; your AI reads it with your own login, and every read is free.

## Use it from your agent

Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any agent with a shell:

> Set up https://toolfare.ai/skill.md, then use toolfare to answer: What did each LinkedIn campaign cost per conversion last month?

Apps without a terminal connect toolfare as an MCP server: https://toolfare.ai/docs#connect

## Use it from a script

```sh
mkdir -p ~/.local/bin
curl -fsSL 'https://toolfare.ai/toolfare/toolfare.mjs' -o ~/.local/bin/toolfare
chmod +x ~/.local/bin/toolfare
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"
export TOOLFARE_MCP_URL='https://api.toolfare.ai/mcp'
toolfare login
```

Then connect your LinkedIn Ads account in the toolfare console (https://toolfare.ai/linkedin-ads#setup); calls fail until it is connected.

Sign in once per machine; the CLI renews the sign-in itself. On a CI runner or another server, create an API key in the toolfare console and set it as `TOOLFARE_API_KEY` instead of signing in. Paid calls on one sign-in or key run one at a time. `--max-cost` refuses a call quoted above that many credits (1,000 credits = $3).

## Tools

### Cost per conversion by campaign, ad or day

Tool: `ads_query_single_dimension`

Spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and CPA, grouped by account, campaign, ad group, ad or date — read from toolfare’s synced copy of the account.

Ask:
- What did each LinkedIn campaign cost per conversion last month?
- Show our LinkedIn spend by day for the last two weeks.

### Live analytics by campaign group or creative

Tool: `ads_get_insights`

LinkedIn’s own ad analytics, read live and pivoted by account, campaign group, campaign or creative.

Ask:
- Which LinkedIn creatives got the most clicks this week?
- How is each campaign group performing right now?

### Every campaign, as it stands on LinkedIn

Tool: `ads_list_campaigns`

The live campaign list with status and budget, straight from LinkedIn.

Ask:
- Which LinkedIn campaigns are active right now?
- List our LinkedIn campaigns and their budgets.

### The ads inside a campaign

Tool: `ads_list_ads`

The ads under an account or campaign, with their status — the inventory to check before asking why one of them stopped delivering.

Ask:
- What ads are running in this LinkedIn campaign?
- Which of our LinkedIn ads are paused?

### The account’s status and currency

Tool: `ads_get_account_info`

A snapshot of the ad account as LinkedIn reports it — status, currency and the other account-level facts a report is read against.

Ask:
- What currency is our LinkedIn ad account in?
- Is our LinkedIn ad account in good standing?

### Also available

- `ads_create_ad`: Draft a paused ad from a creative
- `ads_get_ad`: One ad’s live status, creative and tracking
- `ads_get_campaign`: One campaign’s live settings and status
- `ads_get_data_readiness`: Which date ranges have finished syncing
- `ads_list_ad_accounts`: The ad accounts your toolfare account can read

## Price

Free to read: it is your own account, so toolfare pays nobody for the data and charges nothing per read. No per-read charge to observe. Reads need no purchase. Like every toolfare call, they run only while your balance holds at least $0.003, and that is not spent.

Balances and top-ups are in US dollars. Quotes and `--max-cost` count credits: 1,000 credits = $3 ($0.003 each).

## Use it when

- You want cost per conversion by LinkedIn campaign without exporting a report.
- You want to know which creative is carrying a campaign.
- You want LinkedIn spend next to the rest of your paid channels in one conversation.

## Look elsewhere when

- You want performance by job title, seniority or company. That breakdown is not in this connection.
- You want the leads themselves. No LinkedIn lead-form tool is published.
- You want to change a bid or pause a campaign. Over MCP your AI can only propose new ads, and each one waits for your approval in toolfare.

## Limits

- Synced reporting is core metrics only — spend, impressions, clicks and conversions — by account, campaign, ad group, ad or date. There is no demographic breakdown.
- A freshly connected account backfills in stages; an unsynced range is not zero spend.
- Live analytics go through LinkedIn’s own API and are subject to its rate limits.
