# Firecrawl through toolfare

> Any page read with a real browser and returned as clean markdown, a site crawled page by page up to a hundred pages, and search results with their content already fetched — answered inside ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Cursor. No Firecrawl plan or API key of your own: toolfare makes each call and quotes it first.

Page: https://toolfare.ai/firecrawl

## Use it from your agent

Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any agent with a shell:

> Set up https://toolfare.ai/skill.md, then use toolfare to answer: Scrape this competitor’s pricing page into markdown.

Apps without a terminal connect toolfare as an MCP server: https://toolfare.ai/docs#connect

## Use it from a script

```sh
mkdir -p ~/.local/bin
curl -fsSL 'https://toolfare.ai/toolfare/toolfare.mjs' -o ~/.local/bin/toolfare
chmod +x ~/.local/bin/toolfare
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"
export TOOLFARE_MCP_URL='https://api.toolfare.ai/mcp'
toolfare login
```

Sign in once per machine; the CLI renews the sign-in itself. On a CI runner or another server, create an API key in the toolfare console and set it as `TOOLFARE_API_KEY` instead of signing in. Paid calls on one sign-in or key run one at a time. `--max-cost` refuses a call quoted above that many credits (1,000 credits = $3).

## Tools

### One page, rendered and cleaned

Tool: `firecrawl_scrape`

Fetches a URL with a real browser and returns its content as markdown, HTML or structured fields — so it works on pages a plain fetch returns empty.

Ask:
- Scrape this competitor’s pricing page into markdown.
- Pull the plan names and prices out of this page.

### A whole site, page by page

Tool: `firecrawl_crawl`

Follows links from a starting URL across a site and collects up to a hundred pages of content. It runs as a job; your AI reads the pages back when the crawl is done.

Ask:
- Crawl this documentation site.
- Get the pages under this competitor’s blog, up to a hundred of them.

### Search results with their content

Tool: `firecrawl_search`

Runs a web search and scrapes the results in the same request, so the answer comes back as content rather than links.

Ask:
- Search for MCP marketing tools and read their pages.
- Find reviews of this product and pull what they say.

### Also available

- `firecrawl_crawl_status`: Read the pages a crawl has collected

## Price

Quoted to your AI before the call runs, then charged at Firecrawl’s flat per-call rate. One charge per successful call — scraping a page, starting a crawl or collecting its results are each one call. No fixed price table on the page, on purpose: the rate lives in the provider’s billing module. A call that fails is never charged.

Balances and top-ups are in US dollars. Quotes and `--max-cost` count credits: 1,000 credits = $3 ($0.003 each).

## Use it when

- You need the readable text of a page, including ones that render in the browser.
- You need many or all pages of a site, not one.
- You want structured fields pulled out of a page.

## Look elsewhere when

- You only want a page’s text and nothing more. A lighter reader does that for less.
- You want a picture of the page rather than its text.
- You want Google’s own results page, ads and features.

## Limits

- A crawl is not instant: the first call starts it, and the pages are collected afterwards.
- One crawl collects at most a hundred pages; a larger site needs several, started from different sections.
- Pages behind a login, or that block automated browsers, may come back empty.
- Pay as you go from your toolfare balance, in US dollars; there is no subscription. A call runs when your balance covers its quote.
