# Avatars through toolfare

> The list of avatars available for avatar videos, page by page, so your agent can choose a presenter and pass its ID to Avatar Video or URL to Video — asked from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or your own script. No avatar-platform account or key of your own: toolfare quotes the call before it runs, on the same balance as the renders, and returns the list in the same call.

Sign in once per machine; the CLI renews the sign-in itself. On a CI runner or another server,
create an API key in the toolfare console and set it as `TOOLFARE_API_KEY` instead of signing in.
Paid calls on one sign-in or key run one at a time. `--max-cost` refuses a call quoted above
that many credits (1,000 credits = $3).

Balances and top-ups are in US dollars. Quotes and `--max-cost` count credits: 1,000 credits = $3 ($0.003 each).

## Use it when

- You are about to make an avatar video and need an avatar ID.
- You want a presenter in a URL-to-video product ad.
- You want to browse the presenters before writing a script.

## Look elsewhere when

- You want the video itself. Listing avatars renders nothing.
- You want a custom avatar of yourself or a specific person — only the listed avatars are available.

## Limits

- Lists the provider’s available avatars only; you cannot add or train your own.
- Results are paged: 20 per page by default, with page and page size as inputs.
- Pay as you go from your toolfare balance, in US dollars; there is no subscription. A call runs when your balance covers its quote.
